The 2019 incarnation of the Mayhem Film Festival inches closer and closer. That means more and more titles are being announced for the Nottingham-based genre film festival which takes place from 10-13 October). Added to the line-up is The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, She Never Died and The Pool.
All of the above sound great. Find out why below…
Mayhem will host the UK Premiere of all-action, South Korean serial killer thriller The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. A sardonic cop reluctantly teams up with a wounded crime boss (the remarkable Ma Dong-seok of Train To Busan) to track and stop a serial killer, but their criminal rivals stand – violently – in their way. See it way ahead of the upcoming Stallone-produced US remake.
Also in this year’s line-up is She Never Died, a female-fronted companion piece to 2015 cult film He Never Died. Olunike Adeliyi stars as an immortal cannibal who seeks out the darkest souls humanity has to offer in the hunt for her next meal, when she saves a woman from dying a grisly death on a snuff web channel and proceeds to hunt down the culprits.
Rounding off this second wave of announcements is another UK Premiere, Thai action-horror The Pool, where a couple is trapped in an empty swimming pool with only a hungry crocodile for company. Packed with over-the-top twists and some genuinely shocking surprises, survival horror has never been so much ludicrous, logic-testing fun. Our full 2019 line-up will be announced in early September.
Mayhem Film Festival will take place at Broadway Cinema, Nottingham from 10 –13 October 2019.
Early Bird Passes for the festival are still available for £70. For more information visit www.mayhemfilmfestival.com
