The slew of positive reviews for Man of Steel has led Warner Bros. to give the green-light to a follow-up film. Zack Snyder will return to direct and David Goyer will script the film, which will continue the adventures of Superman.
It’s interesting to note that there is no concrete news on whether Christopher Nolan will return to produce. Rumour has it that he will be back, but that he will have a limited role in developing this superhero sequel. He’s spent a decade working on comic book movies at Warner Bros and I’m sure that he would like a break – no matter how cool that gig might be.
Man of Steel is expected to gross over $100 million this weekend at the US box office – about half of what Superman Returns scored during its entire theatrical run.
