A Webb Is Spun Over THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

WEBB-SPIDER-MAN

At one point it looked uncertain, but it has been confirmed director Marc Webb will be returning to direct the follow-up to The Amazing Spider-Man. Will it be called The Amazing Spider-Man 2? The Even More Amazing Spider-Man?

The famously quaffed Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone also look set to return for the film, which is set to start shooting early next year for a May 2, 2014 release.

The Amazing Spider-Man grossed over $261 million at the domestic box office, and more than $751 million worldwide, a great number for the reboot, which was met with much derision when it was first announced. The film received mixed-to-decent reviews, even though there was a lot of talk of behind the scenes machinations – with the film undergoing severe editing just before its release. Many thought that Webb wouldn’t come back for another movie (myself included). However, it looks like money talks.

Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner wrote the screenplay, which is based on a script by James Vanderbilt.
